Recipe Sprouted Red Lentil Spread

This simple and delicious spread uses sprouted lentils for added nutrients.

  • 1 cup red lentils
  • 2+ cups water
  • ½ cup tahini
  • 1 clove garlic , crushed
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground pepper
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes (add as little or much as you like)
  • 3 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup olive oil* (*You can use water instead of the oil. Make sure you check the seasoning once it is blended)


  1. Add lentils to a bowl and cover them with water (about 2 cups). Leave the lentils to soak for about 10 hours.
  2. Drain the lentils and add them to a blender. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. You may need to add a little water while blending to help achieve a smooth consistency.
