Little Big Bread allows me to enjoy a genuine grilled cheese sandwich, even while watching my calorie intake!!! And I can cut it up fancy, and plate it nicely, and use a fancy place mat … or not … depends on how busy I am. Widowed, I need to watch my budget too, so presentation makes me feel rich while enjoying a simple, nourishing meal! Easy, peasy but so delicious: between 2 slices of sprouted bread place extra old chedder cheese, a few good slices of sweet onion to make a sandwich. Butter exterior of the breads and grill. – Carol W.

I love to make grilled cheese sandwiches with a variety of different cheeses, so I used cheddar, brie, havarti and blue. …. I made a garnish of diced mango, avocado and red pepper. I like to have some fresh vegetables along with the cheese and [protein]. What makes all difference is the bread! I use Silver Hills bread to give the sandwich the wow factor of healthy grains. I grilled zucchini slices, mushrooms and caramelized onions. I then buttered the slices of bread and added a slice of smoked gouda cheese layered the grilled veggies and added a second slice of smoked gouda cheese to keep it in place. I added a little apricot jelly to the inside bread for a touch of sweetness. Grilled it to perfection added tomato slices inside. Layered on top is a pickle slice, homemade pickled asparagus spear, cherry tomato slice and fresh Basil. It was delicious! A yummy vegetarian sandwich on your delicious bread. Bonus: that sesame seed edge takes the crunch over the top. Tip: Use medium-low heat and flip once the bottom’s golden—about 5–6 minutes per side. I love using Silver Hills Multigrain from Costco to make my vegetarian high protein breakfast grilled cheese. I like to use a bit of mayonnaise on the insides of the bread and some salt/ pepper/ garlic on the outsides as I toast the sandwich with some butter to get a golden crust. Perfect way to be full until lunch. – Angelina
I used only Gouda cheese, as it mild taste lets the flavour of the bread really come through. I paired it with the Squirrelly bread. My tip is to first butter and toast each slice on both sides separately, then melt the cheese directly in the pan on a bit of butter, then put one toasted slice on top of the melted cheese, lift quickly, the use the other one to scoop the rest of the cheese. Gouda tends to form a slight crust when melted like this and the result is a gooey grilled cheese with the toasted taste a some crunch. Simple ingredients, but delicious! – IG: @honest_reviews
I use Squirrelly Sprouted bread to make my classic grilled cheese. It’s a satisfying and healthy lunch. It has a crispy golden crunch and gooey centre that is very tasty. – Manny B
I don’t use butter because it’s extra calories. Inside this one, I have cheese, pizza sauce and Mexican flavored veggie Ground Round. It was super yummy. I was just looking for a wall for the background. I thought it was funny/ironic when I took a closer look at the picture, I had placed it on on a coloring page that I did that says “plant a seed of Dreams”. -Jennifer

I start with delicious and hearty Squirrelly bread and butter the outside of each piece. The filling is thin slices of extra old white cheddar, strips of roasted hot peppers and and generous spread of homemade pesto. And then I grill it to perfection in a cast iron pan. Soooooo good! -Celia

The Sprout & Shout: The Ultimate Grilled Cheese Challenge: Recipe Photo Giveaway is open to entrants who upload a photo of a sprouted grilled cheese sandwich† along with a caption describing their creation and required fields via the entry form on the landing page before 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on May 22nd, 2025 (contest close), and are residents of Canada (excluding residents of the province of Québec) or the United States who have reached the age of majority in their province, state or territory of residence at the time of entry. Employees, directors, officers, representatives, mandataries or contractors of Silver Hills Bakery, immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such persons, are not eligible to enter.

† Eligible sprouted grilled cheese sandwich photo entries must:

  • Include any variety of Silver Hills Bakery sprouted bread in the sandwich depicted; and
  • Be a photo of a sprouted grilled cheese sandwich made by the entrant; and
  • Be an original photo taken by the entrant.

One (1) potential winner will be selected by random draw on May 23, 2025, and contacted via the email address in their entry form submission. Odds of winning depend on total number of eligible entries received. Potential winners will have 48 hours to respond. If no response is received within 48 hours, such potential winner will be disqualified and he/she forfeits any eligibility for a prize. The Prize is not assignable, transferable, or redeemable for cash. Void where prohibited by law.
