1can (540 ml / 19 oz) white beans, drained and rinsed(about 2 cups cooked beans)
½cuptomato sauce
1 small can (156 ml / 5.5 fl oz) tomato paste
2Tbspmaple syrup
½lemon, juiced
1tspgarlic powder
1tspsmoked paprika
1tspDijon mustard
¼tspsalt
¼tspground pepper
Instructions
Add olive oil, white beans, tomato sauce, tomato paste, maple syrup, garlic powder, smoked paprika, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt and pepper to a large pan over medium heat. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes until mixture has thickened slightly.
Serve on your favourite Silver Hills sprouted toast and enjoy!
Tips
- For beans you can use cannellini beans (white kidney beans), white navy beans, or even chickpeas or black beans!- If you don’t have tomato sauce on hand, diced tomatoes would also work well, you may just need to simmer the mixture for longer to get your desired texture.- Feel free to add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or any other veggie of your choice into this recipe!
