3 – 5 Tbspvegan creamer(we used Earth’s Own Oat Cream Culinary Edition)
½Tbspvanilla
Instructions
For the slow cooker cinnamon roll french toast:
Cut up loaf of Soft Wheat Bread into 1-inch cubes.
Place the granulated sugar, cinnamon and 1 tbsp vegan butter in a large resealable Add the cut up soft wheat bread to the bag. Seal and shake to coat the pieces with cinnamon sugar.
In a separate bowl stir together the brown sugar and melted butter.
Grease the inside of a 5 to 7 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray or additional non-dairy buttery spread. Place half the bread pieces in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour half the melted butter mixture over the top, then add the rest of the bread pieces and the rest of the melted butter.
Put the lid on your slow cooker and cook on high power for about 2 hours. (Check it at one hour, then again after another half hour, just to be safe.) The edges will start to brown, but the top will still be a little gooey looking. Turn off the slow cooker, remove the lid to release the steam, and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
For the icing drizzle:
Place the powdered sugar in a medium-size bowl.
Add the vegan creamer a tablespoon at a time until you reach the consistency you’d like your icing or drizzle to be.
Add vanilla, mix well and immediately drizzle over each serving of your Slow Cooker Cinnamon Roll French Toast.
Tips
- The caramelized sugar in this dish will stick to the slow cooker as it cools. To avoid a sticky deep clean we recommend serving the entire recipe from your still-warm slow cooker (or transferring to a serving dish to take to the table) and setting any leftovers aside in a storage container before the slow cooker cools down. Otherwise, you’ll need to soak the hardened sugar (and any stuck-on french toast bits) in hot water to get it clean.- For an extra bit of sweetness add a small amount of powdered icing sugar on top.
